Meditation Exercise: Using music to meditate

Music, especially classical music, is a gentle and beautiful way to relax and feel at peace.

Use music to meditate in the following way:

  • Focus on the space between the notes. Do this for two minutes or more if you have time. The slower the music, the easier it is to meditate on the space.
  • Keep your focus on your breath awareness as you enjoy the music.
  • Listen to uplifting peaceful music.

As you practice this quiet listening, you will notice your mind being at peace. Sit up right on a chair with back straight and supported by a pillow, if necessary. Legs uncrossed and planted firmly on the ground.
