The Importance of Setting a Powerful Intention

My apologies for not being in communication over the past few weeks. I was away in India on a life altering and life transforming trip.

I’d like to share some powerful experiences with you in this short video that I hope you can use. We are all, for the most part, navigating a very challenging period in our lives right now. Both in terms of the world we live in and with regards to the internal challenges many of us face on a daily basis. I will be doing a series of short videos or vignettes over the next few days and weeks to come, that will help.

In this first video, I covered 2 main points. Firstly, I talked about the importance of setting a powerful intention and what happens when you do this. Secondly, I spoke about the miracles that opened up in my life when I quietened my mind. We must learn to use our minds as instruments and switch them off when not needed.

The capacity to use the mind effectively on one subject or area at any one moment in time with concentration, is the self discipline we need to learn- rather than indulging in multi tasking, distracting and over tiring our mind and thoughts with constant stimulation.

The mind could thus be compared to a pencil. If the pencil started writing on it’s own accord, it would fail to be a fit instrument in the master’s hand. So too, the mind and our thoughts need regulation!

I discuss ways you can quiet the mind when not needed, in order to give time to refocus, calm yourself and just be! And how this focus on the divine within can create miracles!

Please see pictures below regarding the service projects on my India trip.

During the trip, food was served to 7,841 people spanning 13 villages. In addition, 600 food hampers with rice, dal, oil, milk powder, and condiments were served in the villages.

Even more, the area in India was struck with severe drought for the past several years, and any animals had died without this water. Volunteers went up to the mountains and set up water bowls for the animals and birds.

Medical camps were conducted in 8 villages, serving 700 people over the 12 days. Rainfall is believed to be a signature of grace during a Yajna or Peace Prayers on this intensity. During this time, a record rainfall was witnessed (apparently it did not rain like this in 20 years). Not ordinary rain, but with thunder and lightening like never seen before! All water tanks, lakes, and bunds were full.

Quote:

We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love’s light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
